Bajarl are djinn-like monsters that attack with smoke and magic. They were first introduced in Monster Rancher 2, and were only obtainable after getting all the house and barn upgrades. They vanished from the series after their debut appearance until Monster Rancher EVO. Barjal monsters can go from little and small to huge and muscular as seen in the picture. Magic monsters transferred from Monster Rancher (by a process known as Slating) become Bajarls, although in the franchise canon they are not related. This is most likely due to the fact that Magics are absent from Monster Rancher 2.

One species of Bajarl called Magic Bajarl wears the same clothing as the Magic. In Monster Rancher EVO, Bajarl takes on the role of guide in the adventure section of the game. In addition to providing advice, it will transport the party to the end of the dungeon after the first run through.
