Monster Rancher Advance 2

Monster Rancher Advance 2 is the second of the Monster Rancher games to be released on Game Boy Advance. It is the sequel to Monster Rancher Advance. It was released in 2002.

Gameplay Edit

Gameplay in Monster Rancher Advance 2 involves the creating, training, and fighting of monsters much like previous games in the Monster Rancher series. It continues the storyline from Monster Rancher Advance with the Age Island Monster Association, and even brings in a few characters from Monster Rancher 1, Monster Rancher 2, and Monster Rancher Advance.

Unlike other Monster Rancher video games, this game reproduces monsters by using a character combination.

Monster CombinationEdit

Unlike the titles on other platforms, Monster breeds maintain the appearance of their pure breed, and recieve only the colors of their sub breed beacuse of the limitations of the platform (For example, a base Suezo with a sub Tiger will create a blue Suezo, but the Suezo will not have fur patterns or a horn) However, monster combination also effects a monster's parimeters much like the earlier titles, such as a Golem sub raising the Power stat in the offspring, or a Zuum sub increasing Speed.

Monsters Edit

This game has a total of 512 monsters (although only 511 monsters is playable since a glitch does not allow you to raise Octochrome), and brings back several breeds that hadn't been seen in a while, such as Phoenix and Doodle.

Trivia Edit

  • The assistant in this game is Holly, one of the main characters in the anime series. Aroma, your assistant from Monster Rancher Advance, frequently visits with her brother, Zest.
  • There are no deaths in the game; an old monster will be retired or turned into a coach.
  • This game introduced Garu as a new monster
  • This game may depend more on in-game events than any other installation. Many main breeds had to be unlocked by special means, and every breed had not only regular special monsters (??? sub-types) that had to be unlocked with given passwords, but many had an even rarer level of specials that had to be triggered by an event.
